Suit against editor-in-chief of "Eni Musavat" recalled in Azerbaijan
The Turkish TV-Channel "Kanal Turk" condemns the lawsuit against Rauf Arifoglu, editor-in-chief of the "Eni Musavat" newspaper. The Channel has declared that it will support the editor-in-chief, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Meanwhile, Abdulbari Gezal, head of the "Azersun Holding," has recalled his claim on bringing Rauf Arifoglu, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Eni Musavat," to criminal liability. Human rights defender Chingiz Ganizade has announced the news today during a sitting of the Committee for Defence of Freedom of Press in "Musavat" Party.
According to his story, yesterday a meeting took place of the Members of the Monitoring Group of Human Rights Organizations with Mr. Gezal. Mr. Ganizade has noted that Gezal took the wishes of human rights defenders into account and agreed to recall his claim. However, he warned that it would be his last concession to the "Eni Musavat" newspaper.
We remind you that Gezal filed a suit in connection with Arifoglu's interview to the "Kanal Turk" TV-Channel. In his interview Arifoglu spoke about relations of Kurd terrorists with various entities, having mentioned the head of the "Azersun Holding."
