Detainees beaten in Krasnodar SIZO
Militiamen have beaten inmates of the pre-trial detention facility (SIZO) No. 1 of the City of Krasnodar. Under non-official data, 10 inmates were heavily wounded, and two more killed. Relatives who rallied in front of the SIZO building demanded to stop mockery at prisoners, the IA "For Human Rights" informs.
Tatiana Rudakova, chair of the Inter-Regional NGO "Mother in Defence of Rights of Detainees, Defendants and Prisoners," informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that human rights activists cannot confirm this information yet.
"We're ready to hold an investigation and inform the public about its results. If the events are far-fetched, we'll report about it," Tatiana Rudakova said.
Andrei Adamov, head of the press service of the Regional Department of the Federal Service for Punishments and Corrections (UFSIN), has stated that the information on the SIZO incident was non-true. However, one of the inmates really died on April 24, but the case was tuberculosis, not beating.
