Victims of April disorders in Tallinn listened to at the European Parliament

On June 26, at the European Parliament headquarters in Brussels, the deputies held a meeting with the victims of the actions of the Estonian police during the April disorders, which were caused by the decision to dismantle the Soldier-Liberator monument in Tallinn, the RIA "Novosti" informs.

A group of the victims and Alexei Semyonov, head of the Estonian Human Rights Information Centre, arrived to Brussels to take part in the hearings, organized by Tatiana Zhdanok, deputy of the European Parliament from Latvia.

The visitors from Estonia demonstrated photos and videos, evidently confirming the cruelty of the Estonian public order guards, to the deputies and journalists.

At the same time, the Ministry of Justice of Estonia intends to elaborate the legislative basis to the promises of politicians to deport from the Republic all the foreigners, who took part in the April disorders in Tallinn.

According to the amendments to the Penitentiary Code of the country, which Minister of Justice Rein Lang is going to send in the near future for consideration to the Parliament, the court shall have the right to appoint to a citizen of a foreign state, who has committed a second gravity degree crime, deportation from the country with a ten years' entry ban. The law in force assumes deportation of the convicts for first gravity degree crimes only - murders, robberies or rapes, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.
