A new meeting of residents of Manaskent village held in Dagestan

On July 4, hundreds of local residents rallied in Manaskent village (Dagestan) with the demand to hold an objective investigation and punish those guilty of murdering local resident Kamil Chamsudinov.

The persons present also moved such radical claims like eviction of everybody involved in murders, and their family members, out of the village.

On Monday, July 2, six residents of the village started finding out who of local residents could be involved in the fire at the local fuelling station that burst out on May 31, where one man perished as a result of ignition.

A fight burst out. In the heat of the fight, Kamil Chamsudinov, a resident of Manaskent, arrived to the venue. Unexpectedly, he snatched out his machine gun and opened fire. As a result of response fire, Chamsudinov was killed in situ.

At the same time, about 300 local residents who rallied in the centre of the village started demanding detention of the guilty persons and arrival of the public prosecutor and Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan denies the information that the conflict was nationalist-motivated: "The participants of the incident were of the same nationality, it was a usual common day-to-day conflict," the Ministry's spokesman asserts.
