Ali Dzeitov's relatives are waiting for his return to Ingushetia

The mother of Ali Dzeitov, an Ingush student, who was acquitted within the case of extremism, is waiting for her son to return, but it is not yet known how he will be sent home from Cairo.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that five students from Ingushetia were detained in Egypt back in August 2018. In April 2019, they were charged with extremism, espionage and links to the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court. On May 20, 2022, it became known that a court in Egypt had invalidated the charges against Dzeitov and acquitted him.

Currently, Ali Dzeitov is kept in one of police stations in Cairo, where the procedures necessary for sending him to Russia are undertaken, his mother Marem told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She has explained that at the trial Ali "was found not guilty, acquitted and released in the courtroom." He will be deported from Egypt to Russia, Marem has added, but she doesn't know whether the extradition will be organized by Egyptian or Ingush authorities, or whether Ali will have to buy a ticket on his own and fly away. "Ali wants to return home to Ingushetia; he wouldn't stay in Egypt," Marem has stated.

Upon his arrival in Ingushetia, Dzeitov will be offered rehabilitation – by analogy with other students who returned from Egypt, Islam Didigov, the office manager of the Ingush Ombudsperson, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
