Stavropol: district militiaman accused of severely beating a suspect

A criminal case has been initiated in Stavropol against the district militia officer from the Promyshlenny District Department of Interior, who had severely beaten a suspect.

A source at the Prosecutor's Office of the Promyshlenny District has reported that a woman had addressed the local interior unit (OVD) with application about a theft of her mobile phone and pointed to a number of persons, who could have been involved in the crime, the "Gazeta.Ru" informs.

Having summoned one of the suspects, the district militiaman started to persuade him to confess. When the man refused to plead guilty saying that he had nothing to do with the theft, the officer severely beat him, having damaged his genitals.

As punishment for "disobedience," he placed the suspect for the whole night into the "monkey house" and drew up a false administrative report that the detainee had behaved as hooligan in the street.
