Parents of the militants lost in Kabardino-Balkaria receive answer from the State Office of Public Prosecutor on the fact of cremation
On June 22, 2007, a group of parents of the militants, who had fallen victim in Kabardino-Balkaria, addressed Ivan Sydoruk, Deputy General Public Prosecutor of the Russian Federation (RF) for the South Federal District (SFD), and to A. Yu. Sovrulin, head of the investigatory group of the Head Administration of the RF State Office of Public Prosecutor for the SFD, with an application requesting explanations on the fact of cremation of the bodies of their sons, and asking to give out copies of the decision to bury the bodies and of the certificate of funeral services that the burial has been made.
The answer received by the parents from the RF State Office of Public Prosecutor signed by inspector V. Bondarev runs that "burial of persons whose death has onset as a result of suppressing a terror act accomplished by them," is carried out by specialized services. The necessary documents are sent by the official in charge of preliminary investigation. The law does not stipulate presenting such documents to the relatives. "A certificate is drawn up on the performed burial (cremation) by the specialized service in charge of the funeral business, which is subject to adding to the criminal case files. The current legislation does not assume issuance of this certificate to the relatives.
