Prosecutor's Office: case on the explosive found on Botashov spoils the image of Adygea

On July 3, the Republic's Radio informed, with reference to Kaplan Daurov, head of the UBOP (Organized Crime Fighting Unit) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Adygea, that on June 27, in the apartment of Ibrahim Botashov, located in Yablonovskiy settlement, Takhtamukai District of Adygea, employees of the UBOP of the MIA of Adygea found a self-made explosive device, an army thunder flash, a black flag, and a map of Maikop (capital of Adygea) with indication of the FSB and MIA buildings.

District Public Prosecutor Kadyr Chale refused to make any comments on the case and expressed his regret that mass media were "inflating" this case, which, in its turn, spoils the image of the Takhtamukai District and Adygea as a whole.

Meanwhile, the web site "Adygea Islam" has published its own version of the incident:

"The search was made with roughest violations - without witnesses. Militiamen just rushed into the house of a sleeping man at 6 a.m., tumbled him down onto the floor and put handcuffs. One of them put a plastic bottle into I. Botashov's hand and then brought it to the bathroom, after that, they started their official search, in the course of which the explosive was 'found.' Immediately, I. Botashov was arrested and spent 16 hours in the cell of the Republic's UBOP of the MIA of the Republic of Adygea (RA), where medieval tortures and electroshock were applied to him.

Currently, Mr Botashov and other Moslems of Adygea are receiving massacre threats from certain dishonest militiamen engaged in the notorious struggle against "Wahhabism" in the territory of the Republic."
