Telegram users find apologies for comic video in Dagestan excessive
The video clip, allegedly filmed on behalf of the armed members of the jamaat of the village of Salta, was a joke; and there is no need forcing people to apologize for it, the majority of commentators on the Telegram channel of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) believe. Some users, however, have noted that people must apologize for such misconduct.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 14, the Dagestani police posted a video with apologies from the head of the filming crew and extras for the comic video message allegedly on behalf of the armed members of the rural jamaat. In Dagestan, not all topics can be joked about, the MIA has warned.
In the MIA's Telegram channel, most commentators have treated the Ministry's reaction to the joke of the authors of the video as excessive.
"I don't think this joke should be excused under pressure," said an unnamed user. "They made such a tragedy out of a joke. Those who were seriously indignant about this are clearly having problems with the sense of humour," the user Agent P has noted.
"We can no longer distinguish humour from a threat, can we? What is it when they force authors of some video clip apologize like criminals? And they claim that there is the freedom of speech in our country!" the user nicknamed Cold Heart was indignant.
Some commentators, however, have treated the apologies as appropriate. "He has perceived how to joke and where; I don't think he will ever come to Dagestan again," the user Olga believes.
