Relatives of arrested journalists beg Azerbaijani leader of pardon
It has become known to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev can pardon the arrested journalists only if they lodge respective pardon petitions. According to the same sources, the Pardon Commission has discussed at its sitting an application of the Board of the Press on pardoning the convicted journalists and made a decision to report to the head of the state about the application.
It has also become known that the mother of Einullah Fatullaev, founder and editor-in-chief of the newspapers "Gyundelik Azerbaijan" and "Real Azerbaijan," sent her applications to President Ilham Aliev and State Pardon Commission with a request to pardon her son, and the wife of Rovshan Kebirli, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Mucaliphate" (Opposition), sent the respective applications for pardoning her husband.
