Zarema Musaeva convoyed to colony

Zarema Musaeva has been sent to the settlement colony located in the town of Argun. Her advocates are preparing documents for her conditional early relief (CER), the project "Support for Political Prisoners. Memorial" has reported in its Telegram channel.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 12, the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya reduced Musaeva's colony down to five years and replaced a general security with a settlement colony. Human rights defenders and advocates have noted that Musaeva now has the right to recalculate the term she had served at the SIZO (pre-trial prison), as well as to apply for the CER.

Let us remind you that on January 20, 2022, Chechen law enforcers took Zarema Musaeva (the wife of Saidi Yangulbaev, a former Russian federal judge) away from her apartment in Nizhny Novgorod. She was accused of assaulting a policeman.

  • Compensation decrease for illegal prosecution violates rights of KBR resident

The court ruling, which awarded Madin Gubzhokov compensation of 30,000 roubles for unlawful criminal prosecution, is incomparable with the moral harm caused by the actions of Azamat Kyaov, a former law enforcer. The amount is ridiculous and should be appealed against, lawyers and human rights defenders have stated.
