Arrested journalist Sakit Zakhidov went on hunger strike in Azerbaijan

Satirical journalist Sakit Zakhidov, an employee of the "Azadlyg" newspaper, who is now in custody, has started a hunger strike. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by the satirist's family that the reason of the protest action was S. Zakhidov's removal from the prison hospital back to Colony No. 14.

The satirist was hospitalized because of his health aggravation, but now, without his health becoming better, the authorities have returned him back to prison.

We remind you that the "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that on July 21 S. Zakhidov was placed to the Central Hospital of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice. Before that, on July 8-15 the journalist held a hunger-strike action in Colony No. 14 demanding to provide him with conditions for medical treatment.
