Dagestani journalist Idris Yusupov* faces new claims from law enforcers
The police drew up a protocol against Idris Yusupov*, a journalist from Makhachkala, for ignoring the restrictions arising from the status of a foreign agent.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 22, a search was carried out at house of Idris Yusupov*, during which law enforcers seized a mobile phone and laptops. Moreover, earlier, on October 30, 2023, the police also came to search the house of Idris Yusupov* and seized a PC and other equipment.
On November 24, 2023, the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) included Idris Yusupov* in the list of foreign agents.
The police drew up against Idris Yusupov* a protocol on failure to comply with restrictions arising from the status of a foreign agent, the “OVD Info”* project reported.
Let us remind you that Idris Yusupov* is a journalist working for the “New Clause” (Novoye Delo) publication. The journalist made public an important problem for Dagestan: he released materials about the practice of detaining believers and registering them at the police. Idris Yusupov* regularly held solo pickets in defence of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, an editor of the Dagestani weekly newspaper “Chernovik” (Rough Draft), scientist Khadji-Murad Donogo, and political prisoners, as well as in support of the people of Palestine.
*On November 24, 2023, the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) included Idris Yusupov in the register of foreign agents. The journalist filed an appeal against the MoJ’s decision.
