Unidentified persons set fire to car of Rostov blogger Gaspar Avakyan again

At night, unidentified persons set fire to a car of Rostov blogger Gaspar Avakyan. This is the second arson of the car belonging to the blogger within a week.

On September 7, an unidentified person set fire to Gaspar Avakyan’s car in Rostov-on-Don. The blogger calculated the damage at 103,000 roubles.

After the first arson, Gaspar Avakyan complained that law enforcers did nothing to investigate the crime. In particular, investigators did not seize video recordings from surveillance cameras and failed to identify a person who brought a canister of petrol to the place of the crime.

Recently, Gaspar Avakyan has been investigating the activities of a Rostov driving school. According to the blogger’s reports, its director agreed with law enforcers and organized exams for students of his driving school. As a result, the licence of the driving school was revoked, and its activities are being inspected by the law enforcement bodies.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in May 2020, Gaspar Avakyan was found guilty of extortion of money four times and sentenced to 2.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony. Advocates found the evidence of the blogger’s guilt unconvincing.
