In Armenia, advocates in "Case of Seven" find evidences insufficient

The verdict of guilty in the "Case of Seven" lacks evidences, which could justify sending the case to the court, runs the letter of a group of advocates to Thomas Hammarberg, Supreme Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, about the violations and drawbacks found in the verdict of guilty.

The advocates in the "Case of Seven" note that although the verdict of guilty was signed by Koryun Piloyan, Public Prosecutor of the State Office of Public Prosecutor, the criminal case lacks any documents allowing the Public Prosecutor to ground the verdict.

The Ombudsman of Armenia Armen Arutyunyan is going to take the trial on the "Case of Seven" under his control. In particular, the Ombudsman's office will monitor the litigation and make statements based on comparison of the arguments of defence and accusation.
