"Reporters without Borders" condemned the appeal of Iranian clergy to massacre Azerbaijani journalists

The International Organization "Reporters without Borders" has spread a document condemning an appeal of Iranian spiritual leaders to assassinate two journalists from Azerbaijan.

The document stresses that the top officials of Iran should calm down the population of the country, the "Azeri-Press" reports.

Besides, it contains an appeal to the Authorities of Azerbaijan to ensure the journalists' safety.

We remind you that famous religious figures of Iran Ayatollah Myutaza Bani Fazi and Ayatollah Fazil Mohammed Lankorani made a decision to execute Samir Sadatoglu, editor-in-chief of the "Sanat" newspaper, and another journalist of the paper who wrote an article speaking about Prophet Muhammad and Islam.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case in relation to Samir Sadatoglu, editor-in-chief of the "Sanat" newspaper, and publicist Rafik Tagi under Article 283 of the Criminal Code (kindling interethnic, inter-religious, inter-racial and social enmity). Both journalists are arrested and under investigation.
