Court session on dispersal of picket in memory of Politkovskaya appointed on December 15
At 4:00 p.m. on December 15, the Nazran District Court of the Republic of Ingushetia (RI) will start considering an application lodged by the "Mashr" Association of Relatives of Missing People on illegal decision of the Mayor's Office of the city of Nazran, which had prohibited a picket in memory of Anna Politkovskaya on October 16 this year, and actions of the Interior Department of Nazran and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia who violently dispersed the protest action. Magomed Mutsolgov, chairman of this Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization (ANO), told the story to the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot."
On October 16 this year, militiamen and "people in civilian clothes" violently dispersed a picket in memory of Anna Politkovskaya in Bazorkin Avenue in the centre of Nazran. Eight persons were detained: five employees of the HRC "Memorial," Magomed Mutsolgov, organizer of the action, Ruslan Maisigov, correspondent of the ITAR-TASS, and two occasional passers-by.
