Work of the "Educated Media" ("Internews") Foundation paralysed

The work of the Public Foundation "Educated Media" (assignee of the "Internews") is actually paralysed after the search of the premises of the organization. Manana Aslamazyan, Director General of the Foundation, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about it. The Foundation's activity was directed, in particular, towards support of mass media in North Caucasus.

"They've confiscated all our economic and financial documents for the last and this year. Since the ANCO (Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization) "Internews" had existed as an independent entity till this January, they also took away all its documents either. They've also withdrawn nine or ten servers: the video server, the mail server, the accounting server and so on and so forth. For this reason, our web site is now inoperative," Ms. Aslamazyan says.

We remind you that the "Caucasian Knot" has informed earlier that on Wednesday, April 18, the employees of the Department of Economic Safety (DES) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs confiscated all the financial documentation from the Moscow office of the "Educated Media" (former "Internews" Branch) Foundation for Culture, Education and Mass Media Projects. The investigatory actions were carried out within the investigation of a criminal case on smuggling and legalization of incomes, the "Kommersant" writes.

Manana Aslamazyan thinks that the "Educated Media" Foundation has fallen a victim of the anti-NGO campaign in Russia.
