Russian asserts that he ran away from captivity in Georgia

Ivan Kirillov, 40, a citizen of Russia, asserts that he managed to run away from Georgian slavery. He was violently taken away to the Mestiyskiy District, Upper Svanetia, where he was forced to work during four years.

"Prior to go home, I had decided to earn some money, however, after a year of heavy works, instead of promised money, I was severely beaten," Mr Kirillov has reported. He said that he had made numerous attempts to run away, but "every time they ended in just another beating."

According to Ivan Kirillov, he was not the only person to get fraudulently enticed into slavery. Dozens of people, most of them Russians, are forced into slave labour in Georgian villages. The law enforcement bodies know about it, but stay idling, the "Interfax" reports.

The Russian has also informed that during his pre-last runaway he was detained by Georgian policemen and returned back to his so-called owners. He has explained that had been kept in "inhuman conditions" and lived in a cowshed.
