Opposition rallied at the Parliament of Georgia demands to restore "Imedi"

About thirty thousand persons have gathered to take part in the action of the United Opposition in front of the Parliament of Georgia in defence of the "Imedi" TV Company. Appeals are heard not to disperse until the authorities restart broadcasting of the "Imedi".

The whole area in front of the Parliament is full of people; the traffic in the Rustaveli Avenue was blocked. The well-known film director Keti Dolidze applied to the authorities and called for a compromise: "The authorities' victory over the hunger-strikers will be the authorities' defeat."

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that orators speak one after another. Nona Gaprindashvili, one of the most faithful supporters of Badri Patarkatsishvili, has stated to the audience that "the very fact that you have rallied here means to what extent the "Imedi" is wanted by the people. Nona Gaprindashvili has called the United Opposition to stop their hunger-strike.

We remind you that today representatives of the United Opposition of Georgia have refused to cooperate with Georgian TV Companies "Rustavi-2" and "Mze", having announced a boycott against them.

According to Kakha Kukava, one of the leaders of the opposition, oppositionists will not give comments and interview to these TV Companies, since, as he said, they are pro-Governmental Channels.
