Yerevan marks 20 years of signing the UN Convention "On Rights of the Child"

In Yerevan, at the National Aesthetics Centre, within the plan of actions dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the date of signing the UN Convention on Children's Rights, a solemn opening of the exhibition of Swedish artist Ilon Vikland was held.

Ms Vikland is the illustrator of the book "Carlson on the Roof" by the famous Swedish children's writer Astrid Lindgren.

The organizers of the exhibition that will last from November 19 to December 3 are the Swedish Embassy and Estonian Consulate to Armenia, organization "Children's Achievements of Armenia" and the Yerevan-based office of the "Oriflame" Company. The event was also attended by members of international and local NGOs, which deal with children's problems.

"Armenia is a very interesting country; I studied your history and arts, and I'm happy that today my works are exhibited here in Armenia," Ms Viklund said in her interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
