After explosion in Nalchik residents of Northern Caucasus fear terror acts on Victory Day

The today's explosion in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, where, under the latest data, one person was killed and 22 others were hospitalized, has caused active debates in the Internet. Many users express fears that the Nalchik tragedy may be followed by terror acts in other regions of Northern Caucasus on the day of the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory.

"The explosion was so strong that its echo was heard all over the city. By the rumours, the bomb was planted above the VIP box. One victim died - a war veteran," the user named Nalchanin wrote in the forum of the website "Kavkazweb.net".

"The death of the veteran is the most vivid proof that those who act through such methods have no and cannot have any good aim and idea," an anonymous commentator wrote in the website "Kabardino-Balkaria. World and We".

"Whatever they proclaim, the war is against people - against children, old men, pregnant women - against each of us."

A number of users link the terror act with the forthcoming elections (in September 2010 the term of service of the incumbent President expires). "The closer the elections, the more blood we see!" another anonymous author wrote.

Some of Internet users emphasize that recently the situation in Kabardino-Balkaria has sharply worsened and support the opinion that today's terror act could have been prevented, if special services had been more attentive. "Where do special services look? In Chechnya, it's already safer to live than in Kabardino-Balkaria," the user of the same website Balkardinets is indignant.
