Popular website attacked by hackers in Armenia

A well-known Armenian Internet edition "1in.am", which is an electronic version of the "Zhamanak" newspaper, was attacked by hackers three days before the elections. As reported by Ruben Megrabyan,the editor of the Russian service of the website, currently they are actively recovering the resource and hope to cope with it by today's evening.

On May 3 in the morning, the social network Facebook posted a statement of the editorial board of the website saying: "Open threats have failed to stop us from pursuing our political line; the last cowardly method remained – to expose the website '1in.am' to an unprecedented attack."

The authors of the statement draw attention to the fact that the hackers' attack on the website, which is in the top three most popular online media of Armenia, was undertaken three days before parliamentary elections and on the World Press Freedom Day.
