The Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) is carrying out the investigation into reports on torture of Ruslan Makoev, a resident of North Ossetia, accused of the Deputy Prosecutor's murder. In turn, relatives of Ruslan Makoev, who is kept at the IVS (temporary detention facility) in Kabardino-Balkaria, claim that he got fourth-degree burns.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 12, in Vladikavkaz, relatives and friends of businessman Ruslan Makoev, who was detained on suspicion of murdering Oleg Oziev, Deputy Prosecutor of Vladikavkaz, held an unsanctioned rally. The participants of the protest action have claimed that Ruslan Makoev is subjected to torture.
The rally was attended by about 200 persons. The detainee's relatives brought and showed journalists a Ruslan Makoev's photo with signs of torture.
The ICRF is carrying out the pre-investigation check into the fact of possible use of physical violence and unlawful methods of investigation against Ruslan Makoev. The procedural decision will follow the results of the check. This was reported by the statement posted on the ICRF's website in the evening of November 12.
