North Ossetia resumes stage performances under programme "Theatres to Beslan Children"
Charity project "Theatres to Beslan Children", organized for psychological assistance to victims of the events of September 2004, has been resumed in North Ossetia. Performances will take place both in Vladikavkaz and Beslan.
The cultural and rehabilitation programme "Theatres to Beslan Children" was held from 2004 to 2010. The programme organized tours of the various theatres of Russia, Denmark and the United States with the best children's shows.
"Psychologists, who worked in Beslan under rehabilitation programme, have repeatedly stated that theatre tours represent one of the most important forms of assistance to children, who had experienced severe consequences of a terror act," said a source from the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Mass Communications of North Ossetia.
On November 12, 2013, the project started in Vladikavkaz. It will continue till December 6. The number of theatres that came with the performances includes the Moscow theatre "U Nikitskikh Vorot" (At Nikitsky Gate), the Moscow and Yekaterinburg Theatres for Young Spectators.
"Without any doubt, till present, all residents of our republic do not consider themselves exempted from that emotional pressure. I believe the similar actions help to change the moral and psychological background," said Fatima Khabalova, Minister of Culture of North Ossetia, at the press conference dedicated to the resumption of the project, held on November 12.
