Three natives of Kabardino-Balkaria suspected of involvement in suicide bombing in Ukraine, source from SSU reports
Four persons, detained during the actions to investigate the explosion committed on October 4 at the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Sumy Region, are suspected of involvement in the illegal transportation of a suicide bomber to Ukraine. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU). Three of the detainees are citizens of Russian, natives of Kabardino-Balkaria. This was reported by the Ukrainian media with reference to their sources.
Let us remind you that that at night of October 4, on the Russian-Ukrainian border, a detained man blew himself and two border guards up during the inspection of documents at the checkpoint "Bachevsk". On October 10, the SSU reported that the man was identified, and on November 14, the SSU reported on the detention of his four associates.
According to the SSU, the detainees were helping North-Caucasian militants, wanted by the Russian secret services, to wait out the danger in Ukraine.
The newspaper "Kommersant-Ukraine" reports with reference to sources from the SSU that one of the detained Russian citizens is officially suspected of involvement in a series of terror acts committed in 2001 in the Stavropol Territory. At present, the Ukrainian authorities consider the issue to extradite him to Russia. The source has also noted that the detained citizen of Ukraine has recently converted to Islam and that all three detainees are being checked for involvement in international terrorist groupings.
