Dagestan: detained Kharachi villagers are released from police
As reported by locals, ten out of the earlier detained residents of the villagers of Kharachi, Untsukul District of Dagestan, have been set free without being charged. The on duty unit of the local ROVD (District Interior Division) has confirmed the information to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Let us remind you that on November 15 local residents reported that Kharachi was blocked by power agents; several villagers were detained for interrogation, including Gadjimurad Saladinov, the head of the village. According to locals, by the afternoon of November 16 the number of detainees reached 15.
On that very day, their relatives gathered outside the ROVD building, located in Shamilkala, demanding explanations from power agents.
"Most of the crowd has dispersed, but at least 30 people are still at the building. It's still impossible to get to Kharachi for any locals or outsiders, except for power agents," said Akhmed, a resident of the Untsukul District.
Magomed Magomedov, a Kharachi villager, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that 10 out of the 15 detainees were already at large, including the Kharachi school director. The local Imam and the village head were still in custody.
