Five villagers of Dagestani Kharachi arrested for two months, locals report
Five residents of the village of Kharachi, Untsukul District of Dagestan, have been arrested for two months on suspicion of resisting law enforcers. On Tuesday, November 19, power agents unblocked the entrance to the village for motor vehicles, said local residents.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Kharachi was blocked by law enforcers on November 15. Fifteen villagers were detained, but on November 16 ten of them were released without charge.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by a local resident that the arrest decision was passed on November 19 in relation of five persons, including the head of the village and the local Imam.
The on duty unit of the Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division) refused to comment on the circumstances of the incident to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Let us remind you that in the afternoon on November 18 shell explosions were heard in the village. The nearby forest caught fire, said the locals.
