Armenia plans to allocate monthly foodstuffs to refugees from Syria

As reported by the Armenian Ministry of Diaspora, the Syrian Armenians who have settled in the country will receive, within the coming six months, 16.2 kg of foodstuffs per month per person.

According to the Ministry, in total, about five thousand refugees from Syria will be covered by the programme of food aid.

As reported by the IA "News-Armenia", the food programme is financed by the Government of the Russian Federation.

The "Armenia-Today" adds that the food will be distributed among the enrolled Syrian Armenians by the NGO "Coordination Centre for Problems of Syrian Armenians".

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported about the fundraising campaign for the Armenians from Syria. In particular, the international economic festival "Countries under One Roof", held in Yerevan in September, included an exhibition and sale of products from seven countries; and all the raised money went to help the needy Syrian Armenian students, studying at universities of Armenia.
