MIA: bomb carrier was killed by explosion in Makhachkala

An explosion occurred in Makhachkala and killed one person, a source from the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the source, the casualty himself could have carried a homemade bomb.

"The incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. in Gogol Street. One person died. Presumably, he was carrying an improvised explosive device (IED). Nobody else was hurt," the source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

An operative team is studying the venue. So far, the casualty has not been identified.
