Court forbids Oyub Titiev to sit next to his advocates

The Shali City Court has dismissed the defence's petition asking for the time of the session to release Oyub Titiev from the metal cage.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Titiev's trial is on since July 19. On August 8, not all the summoned witnesses came to the session; and the court dismissed the defence's petition to challenge the prosecutor.

The today's court session began with the defence's petition to provide Titiev with a place next to his advocates. According to the defence, the fact that Titiev is in an iron cage during the trial, violates his rights, degrades his dignity and is not justified by security measures.

The lady-judge has found the petition unjustified. She explained the fact that Titiev is in a cage by "reasonable unavoidable restrictions," the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has reported in the Telegram Messenger.
