Dagestani MIA recognizes policeman's misconduct in street conflict

In a conflict between residents of Dagestan and law enforcers, both sides behaved inappropriately, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MA) of Dagestan declares.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a video with the author's repentance of a street conflict between law enforcers and local residents in Dagestan, posted on March 1, provoked indignation among users of Dagestani public accounts on Instagram. The press service of the Dagestani MIA was not supposed to post such a video, Instagram users believe. They called on the policemen, who also used foul language, to apologize.

An official investigation has been appointed with regard to one of PPS (patrol-and-post service) inspectors involved in the conflict. The investigation will last a month, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed by the press service of the Dagestani MIA. "The investigation is being underway with regard to the PPS inspector whose behaviour was unworthy," reported the spokesman of the Dagestani MIA. The MIA's official also noted "there was an offence on both sides."
