Igor Trunov: victims of metro terror acts will get no compensation from the convicts

Although the complainants in the case of Moscow metro explosions are not completely satisfied with the judgment of conviction, they will not appeal against it. Igor Trunov, defender of the victims and their relatives, told about to the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot." Today, the Moscow City Court has awarded the three convicts in the case of terror acts in Moscow metro in 2004 - in the "Rizhskaya" station and in the leg between the stations "Paveletskaya" and "Avtozavodskaya."

"In the part of the punishment to the convicts, the victims are satisfied with the verdict. As to the compensation of the moral damage, the sum awarded to the claimants made about one third of what we claimed - we asked to collect about 36 million roubles from the culprits. We did not expect any wonders, and it's quite clear that it would never be possible to actually collect this sum from the criminals," Igor Trunov has stated.

Mr. Trunov intends to demand compensation of moral damage caused to his clients from the Government of Moscow.

A dozen of victims have filed suits demanding compensation of 3 million roubles each, making 36 million roubles in total. However, only four of them were awarded 1 million roubles each. The compensation to the rest of the claimants made: 350,000 roubles - to two persons each, to the remaining ones - 300, 175, 150, 140, 120 and 15 thousand roubles accordingly. That is 1.6 million roubles in total. Besides, the Insurance Company "Spasskie Vorota" decided to pay out 2.075 million roubles to the victims in the case, the IA "Regnum" reports.
