Dagestani policemen suspected of fabricating drug case

In the Nogai District of Dagestan, four policemen officers are suspected of fabricating a criminal case on drug possession, which they had planted on a local resident, investigators have stated.

Depending on their role, the policemen are suspected of illegally purchasing drugs, abuse of office duties with violence, official forgery, and falsifying proofs in a criminal case, the Dagestani branch of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported.

According to investigators, this May, these policemen planted drugs on a local resident with the use of violence. "A criminal case was opened against the local resident based on knowingly false documents," the website of the above branch has informed.

The suspects have been detained; and the court has ruled to place two of them into custody.
