Numerous violations revealed in old people's home in Volgograd Region

The Prosecutor's Office of the Kikvidzenskiy District of the Volgograd Region has revealed a number of gross violations in the operation of the state specialized in-patient establishment of social service of citizens of advanced age and invalids named "Macheshanskiy Boarding Home for Old People and Invalids". The top managers of the establishment were brought to administrative responsibility.

"Numerous violations of the rights of the persons living in this social establishment were detected," Sergey Zaitsev, Public Prosecutor of the Kikvidzenskiy District, said to journalists.

As an example, he gave some "blatant" violations. Thus, the administration of the home breached the norm established by the legislation on the area per inhabitant: instead of at least seven square meters per dweller, they put three persons into rooms of 12.8 square metres each.

The furniture in the rooms did not meet the established requirements: they had no bookshelves, clocks, alarm clocks and mirrors. The inhabitants were not properly provided with clothes, footwear and living appliances. Some of them were not given clothes for more than three years. The requirements of the legislation on nutrition of elderly people and invalids were not observed.
