Evkurov: CTO cancellation in Chechnya will positively affect Ingushetia

President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov is sure that Ingushetia, which is bordering on the Chechen Republic, will not be negatively affected by cancellation of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime in Chechnya.

"They were right to do it. I think it could have been done earlier. As a whole, I believe that the CTO cancellation will tell positively on stability of the whole south of Russia," the "Interfax" quotes Mr Evkurov as saying.

According to the leader of Ingushetia, "in this way the federal centre has let know international terrorists that Russia has enough forces and means to stop illegal terrorist actions, whatever their origin is."

Meanwhile, tense situation persists in Ingushetia, and information about shelling, attacks on peaceful residents and law enforcers arrives from there in fact on the daily basis.
