Antadze hopes for renewal of Georgian-Abkhazian negotiations

Merab Antadze, state minister of Georgia for conflict-settling, has stated that at the meeting in Geneva all the countries, save for Germany, have marked progress in fulfilment by the Georgian party of the UN Security Council's resolution on the Kodor Gorge situation: "We hope it will make grounds to revive the negotiations." Merab Antadze has emphasized that he is any time ready to meet the minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.

Merab Antadze has noted that the 2002-2003 Security Council's resolutions ran that the government of Georgia should set the order in the Kodor Gorge. "We all remember that a UN helicopter was shot down in the Kodor Gorge and how many people were kidnapped there," Mr. Antadze stated. The minister has expressed his hope that the new resolution of the UN Security Council will mark the progress.
