Several new explosions in South Ossetia

The monitoring conducted by the military observers from the Mixed Peacekeeping Forces (MPKF) and a representative of the OSCE Mission has shown that on June 11 four explosions took place in the area of the "Tamarasheni" peacekeepers' post in South Ossetia.

"On June 11, 2008, the ceasefire agreement between the conflicting parties was again broken in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone. At 11:10 p.m., several explosions were registered in the delimitation line, between the northern suburb of Tskhinval and the southern suburb of the Georgian village of Tamarasheni. The monitoring group has concluded that the fire was delivered from a GP-25 tubular grenade launcher," said Vladimir Ivanov, assistant of the MPKF Commander, in his comment to the "Caucasian Knot".

The MPKF Command marks that this fact is a violent breach of the existing agreements on ceasefire between the conflicting parties. The co-chairmen of the Mixed Control Commission in the Georgian-Ossetian Conflict Zone have been informed about the incident.
