Chief Armenian infectious doctor calls population not to panic
Ara Asoyan, chief infectious doctor of Armenia, has treated the situation related to the start of propagation of A/H1N1 virus in the country as psychosis and called the population not to give in to panic.
"Today, the situation reminds a mass psychosis. People are hunting for 'Tamiflu' and masks. I want to repeat once again that in case of swine flu the 'Tamiflu' is appointed only to heavily sick patients. There is no need to permanently wear gauze masks, but if someone feels happy, let him or her wear it. The prices on medicines and gauze masks are under control," said Mr Asoyan.
At the same time, he has called to be attentive to all flu symptoms and refrain from going to work or sending children to schools and kindergartens even in case of slightly increased body temperature.
