NGOs to hold protest rally in Tbilisi on November 7

On November 7, in the capital of Georgia, near the building of the parliament, a protest action will take place at the initiative of Georgian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and human rights activists.

It is planned that the initiative group of the People's Representative Assembly and the Public Movement "Solidarity with Illegal Prisoners" will join the protest action.

As stated by Eka Beseliya, leader of the "Solidarity with Illegal Prisoners", on November 7, 2007, "Saakashvili's regime committed a crime, and until now nobody has taken responsibility for it."

According to her story, the civil society and human rights defenders must constantly remind the authorities about those tragic events of November 7 and express protest against unjust actions of the regime, the "News-Georgia" reports.

According to Giya Burdzhanadze, a member of the initiative group of the People's Representative Assembly, "November 7 was the total disgrace of the Georgian society; it would be irreversible if the society admits it again."

The planned November 7 action will be attended also by several opposition parties, including the "Georgian Party", the "Georgia Online" writes.
