Court extends arrest of Ingush activist Magomed Khamkhoev

The court left Magomed Khamkhoev, a participant of a rally held in Magas in March, in custody until September 25. This was reported by Fatima Urusova, an advocate of Magomed Khamkhoev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 5, the court arrested eight activists suspected of using violence against a public officer and calls for unrest during the protests in Ingushetia. In particular, Magomed Khamkhoev was taken into custody. On May 25-26, two of those arrested  Ibragim Muzhakhoev and Adam Azhigov were released.

It should be noted that on March 26, without a sanction of the authorities, the protesters extended their rally on the square in Magas, and that led to clashes with law enforcers. According to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), ten law enforcers were injured. Mass detentions of the activists began on April 2.
