  • ECtHR accepts complaint of former head of HRC "Memorial" and journalists about their kidnapping in Ingushetia

    The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) accepted for consideration the complaint, filed by Oleg Orlov, the former head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", and three journalists from the "REN" TV Channel against actions of power agents with regard to them in November 2007 in Ingushetia, on the eve of a rally of republic's residents against the arbitrariness of power agents. The ECtHR court has sent Russia the questions on the merits of the complaint.

    In Volgograd, about 100 persons laid flowers to the monument to victims of political repressions.   • About 50 "Mekhk-Kkhel" hunger-strikers detained by police in Ingushetia, Idris Abadiev reports

    The police of Ingushetia detained about 50 participants of the hunger striker, held by the public movement "Mekhk-Kkhel." Four hunger-strikers are still kept at the Nazran OVD (Interior Division), and their lawyers are not allowed to visit them. One participant of the protest action was seriously injured during the detention. This was reported by Idris Abadiev, the head of the public organization.
